  I don't have the article to compare the context.

  But it looks like they are saying, what they have always said. Ignore the need to be an individual and 'find yourself'. Stay robotic in nature and follow blindly what we say. To much adventure into learning about ourselves and our thinking processes might damage our relationship with Jehovah [read - you might look around and leave the organization if you think too much].

  As far as the mental health issue - that is a standard disclaimer to protect themselves if someone fails to get professional help for mental illness and blames it on this or similar articles. They have covered their a$$.

  A side benefit to exiting the borg

  my wife and i made the fade in the past year or so - a side benefit is now beginning to become apparent.

  our adult daughter, who was somewhat estranged due to being df'd has come back into our lives.

  [we never did completely shun her, as we never agreed fully with that, but it was always strained because we were under the guilt trip].

  My wife and I made the fade in the past year or so - a side benefit is now beginning to become apparent. Our adult daughter, who was somewhat estranged due to being Df'd has come back into our lives. [We never did completely shun her, as we never agreed fully with that, but it was always strained because we were under the guilt trip]. She is dealing with alot of problems due to personal issues, but we have our only child back into our lives [there are some caveats to this I may enlarge upon someday].

  How good it is to return to the natural unconditional love that we were intended to show to those we love. This has been going on since we faded, but I just felt the need to share this joy.

  One reference work explains that the verb ra·cham´ "expresses a deep and tender feeling of compassion, such as is aroused by the sight of weakness or suffering in those that are dear to us or need our help."

  IP SEC - Are they implying in these portions of the study that this is the attitude that Jw's have in imitation of Jehovah? I think we all know better than that....

  Suggested Masthead for the New Improved Awake!

  in thinking about the change to awake - it seems a new masthead would be in order.

  i suggest;since 1980 we have been using this magazine and other printed propoganda in an all out effort to win the 'apostate wars'.

  in addition, beginning shortly before we applied to the united nations for a library card, we began to publish very favorable political articles about that organization in order to curry favor, and to recieve the best possible seat upon the back of that horrific beastlike organization.

  In thinking about the change to Awake - it seems a new masthead would be in order. I suggest;

  Since 1980 we have been using this magazine and other printed propoganda in an all out effort to win the 'Apostate wars'. In addition, beginning shortly before we applied to the United Nations for a library card, we began to publish very favorable political articles about that organization in order to curry favor, and to recieve the best possible seat upon the back of that horrific beastlike organization. We proved sussessfull in doing that, as well as hiding it from the readers of this magazine. Knowing, as we do, that the balance of the magazine contains fluff and shallow attempts to lead others subtly into our cult, and that no one reads either this masthead or most of the contents of the magazine, it seems approriate at this time to begin publishing it on a monthly basis. Since we have been wrong about most of what we ever published anyway, and what we have been right about was totally needless information - we here include a complete denial by all accusers of anything that we ever did or will do that is contrary to the Bible, God's kingdom, or just generally hatefull toward all those whom we call brother today, and disfellowshipped apostate tomorrow. - publisher

  this happened almost three years ago, but since i always enjoy reading about other people's jw encounters, i thought i'd finally share one of my own.. i lived in an apartment for four years following my disfellowshipping and no one had ever come to my door, not even so much as a shepherding visit.

  ) i had lurked on this board for a while, but was put off by the anger and negativity of some people and so i didn't stay long.

  Balsam - I love the game you are playing. At least these ladies can have a nice social moment instead of driving aimlessly thru the territory. I got a kick out of your story - makes me wish I was in 'another territory' so that I could start a game like that - how fun would that be?

  Hemplover - Good story. Regarding 607; that was the point on which my 'fade' started. I knew that something was wrong with the annointed partakers number - since it has not fallen appreciably since the early 90's. My very first internet search for the 'real truth' was a search for the date 607BCE. Know what? No one, no where, ever heard of it except JW's and xjws. Curiousity may kill a cat - it can save a life too!

  watchtower red flags

  when i was studying and in the org i never did put two and two together becuase first off it was peer pressure and a young baptism age.

  i was indoctrinated as a child so i never got a chance to ever use sound reason and judgement toword the validity of the society's claims.

  but anywho i was thinking the other day about certain things that are obvious red flags and far fetched claims that the org makes.

  I enjoyed all your comments and thoughts. I must say I agree with them, as they make sense to all that have pulled their heads out of their watchtowers and finally seen the light of reality. Thank you, and may God bless.

  To JW BEN -

  I don't know how to say it more succinctly than this; Just try and submitt your own ideas and views on religion, life, morality, what you think the Bible says, at your next watchtower study [It is called a watchtower study - you only get to use the Bible to defend the watchtower opinions]. You may wish to make long and detailed comments on how you have spent time on these 'apostate' sites. I am sure you will get several liberal members of your cong to chime right in agreement. Then let us know how the judicial committee meetings went later that day.

  In short and to the point: You are full of horse $hit if you believe what you have stated here! Let me get my boots!
